The 5:30 AM temperature was 74ºF and the sky was partly cloudy with lots of Cirrus type clouds spread around. I estimate winds were 4-7 mph according to the Beaufort scale. There was 0.08" of rain in the gauge bringing this station up to 0.96" for June. Other CoCoRaHS stations near me have received 1.08" and 1.70" of rain so far in June.

The forecast for today is for high temperatures in the mid 80's and a 50% chance of thunderstorms today and a 70% chance tonight.

The worlds greatest 1-minute rainfall was 1.5" at Guadeloupe, French West Indies on November 26, 1970. (Extreme Weather - Astronomy Magazine Special Issue - 2008)

I had to order a spark plug wire for the mower, it should be here next Wednesday or Thursday.

The low for today was 72ºF and the high was 88ºF. A brief shower at around 11:30 AM interrupted my mowing of Granddaddies place and put 0.08" of rain in the gauge. I got very wet, but I was surprised it had rained that much since the rain only lasted about 10 minutes.

A mouse ate the spark plug wire on my riding mower. Pesky rodent! Travis couldn't get it started last week and when we got back from Florida I tried to start it and noticed mouse nest debris under the engine cover. Finally got around to trying to clean that out last evening and found the mouse had pretty much ate through the spark plug wire. Nancy will try to find us a new wire today, hope I don't have to order one from Kohler, no telling how long that will take. We haven't mowed in two weeks but the grass isn't too out of control due to the small amount of precipitation we've received in June.

The 5:30 AM temperature was 68ºF. The sky was mostly cloudy and the very slight breeze I could feel I estimated to be 1-3 mph. A thunderstorm passed over at midnight or a little after and the rain gauge had 0.29" in it at 5:30 AM, the first rain we've had since June 4th.

The forecast for today is for highs in the low to mid 80's and 40% chance of thunderstorms.

The low for today was 66ºF and the high was 77ºF. It was cloudy most of the day but no rain.

The temperature this morning at 5:30 AM was 70ºF. The sky was clear and there was no wind. No rain was in the rain gauge.

The forecast for today is for gradually increasing clouds and highs in the upper 80's. There is a 50% chance of thunderstorm, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

The low today was 68ºF and the high was 87ºF. We were on the edge of a couple of thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening and got a couple of hundredths of rain. Around midnight a thunderstorm passed over us.

There has been no rain since the last check at 5:30 AM yesterday. This mornings 5:30 AM temperature was 72ºF and the sky was clear and the wind was calm.

The low for today was 71ºF and the high was 89º. While we did not receive any rain today lots of other parts of Tennessee did. While driving back from Chattanooga there was a hard downpour just north of Chattanooga and there were puddles on the side of the road and in parking lots in Murfreesboro. As we arrived home a little after 8 PM lightning could be seen to the north and east.

An empty rain gauge, 74ºF, and a wind of 8-12 mph greeted me at 5:30 AM this morning. The forecast for today is more of the same, lots of sunshine under partly cloudy skies and a high in the low 90's. I'm beginning to notice that we usually don't get quite as warm as forecast. In the summer that is a good thing.

I'm not sure why the bumblebee decided to crawl into the gauge, but it was a tactical error that cost it it's life.
