There was no precipitation in the gauge this morning. The 5:30 AM temperature was 73ºF, the sky was clear and winds were estimated to be 4-7 mph.

The forecast for today is for a low in the low 70's, a high in the upper 80s, partly cloudy skies, southwest winds 5-10 mph, and a 50% chance of showers or thunderstorms from mid-morning through this evening and a 40% chance tonight.

8/3/2009 CoCoRaHS reports (from reports that looked legitimate as of time of blog entry) -
The most precipitation reported in Tennessee was 0.61" at Friendsville. There were 303 reports from Tennessee.
The most precipitation reported in Sumner County, Tennessee was a trace at Bethpage and Hendersonville.
The most precipitation reported in Texas was 0.93" at Amarillo. There were 417 reports from Texas.
The most precipitation reported in Tarrant County, Texas was 0.01" at Benbrook.
So far 6204 CoCoRaHS entries have been made and the greatest amount of precipitation was 4.10" at Dierks, Arkansas. This was the only report of over 4".
