I see there was rain in 2009 and 2008 on October 23. Is this typical for that date? We are planning a wedding for October 23, 2010 thanks

Adele,
October is usually one of the driest months in these parts. However, lately we have had above average amounts of rain in October.
I have been keeping records here since 2005. The rainfall totals for these years in October are as follows -
2005 - 0.10"
2006 - 3.90"
2007 - 5.80"
2008 - 5.25"
2009 - 7.87"

According to the 2010 World Almanac the average rainfall for October in Nashville is 2.9", which is the lowest of any month. I live about 50 miles north of Nashville and we average a little more rain each year than them.
If this year is "normal" the odds are you will have a dry wedding. I hope you have a very nice wedding and even if it rains, there will be sunshine in your hearts (I hope) so you will have a good start to your family.

Thanks,
Mike
