12/25/2010 CoCoRaHS reports (from reports that looked legitimate as of time of blog entry) -
The most precipitation reported in Tennessee is a mystery to me. We just don't report snow very well with many of the precipitation amounts obviously really snow amounts. There were 220 reports from Tennessee. The most new snow was 4.5" at Cleveland (from 8 PM) and the comment said it was really 7", though this person could stand rereading the snow reporting instructions. The 4.5" was in line with 12/26 AM reports from Bradley count, so is probably close.
The most precipitation reported in Sumner County, Tennessee was 0.15" at Westmoreland. The most new snow was 2.8" at Westmoreland (a different station).
The most precipitation reported in Texas was 1.62" at Whitesboro. There were 535 reports from Texas.
The most precipitation reported in Tarrant County, Texas was 1.02" at Bedford and Watauga.

The most precipitation reported in Michigan was 0.19" at Chatham. There were 82 reports from Michigan. The most new snow was 2.1" at Chatham.
No precipitation was reported in Berrien County, Michigan.

So far 5166 CoCoRaHS entries have been made and the greatest amount of precipitation reported was 1.62" at Whitesboro, Texas. (The rest of the greater amounts looked like snow amounts, a lot of people are confused on how to report wintry precipitation.)

Reports of 4" or more:
none

The most new snow reported was 8.0" at Chatsworth, Illinois. (2 reports from West Virginia were most likely 1.5" instead of 15.0".)
The most snow reported on the ground was 77.0" at Soda Springs, California
