There was a trace of precipitation in the gauge this morning. The 5:00 AM temperature was 32º F, there were no stars visible (mostly cloudy or cloudy), and winds were calm. There was a light snow mist falling. The barometer reading was -0.19" since yesterday morning. (29.65 inches Hg on non calibrated barometer).

The forecast for today is for a low in the upper 20's, a high in the low 40's, with cloudy skies. Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph. There is a 80% chance of snow showers with accumulations of 1-3 inches.

The low today was 31º F and the high was 37º F. There were periods of light rain or light snow during the afternoon, then snow starting around 8 PM with accumulation of 1.4" at 1:30 AM on 1/8 and total accumulation of 1.6" by 5 AM on 1/8.

The most precipitation reported in Tennessee was 0.59" at Beersheba Springs. There were 276 reports from Tennessee. The most new snow was 3.2" at Washburn.
The most precipitation reported in Sumner County, Tennessee was 0.3" at Bethpage and Gallatin. The most new snow reported was 0.5" at Bethpage.
The most precipitation reported in Texas was 0.32" at Galveston. There were 441 reports from Texas.
No precipitation was reported in Tarrant County, Texas.

The most precipitation reported in Michigan was 0.16" at Chatham. There were 102 reports from Michigan. The most new snow reported was 4.5" at Chatham.
The most precipitation reported in Berrien County, Michigan was 0.01" at Watervliet. The most new snow reported was a trace at Buchanan, Niles, and Stevensville
