CoCoRaHS
CoCoRaHS is a volunteer system where average people who like weather can record the precipitation at their location and help various climate researchers better understand precipitation patterns. For more information, go to the CoCoRaHS web site.

11/28/2008 CoCoRaHS reports (as of time of blog entry) -
A trace (less than 0.01") of precipitation was reported in Tennessee at Bell Buckle and Crossville. There were 239 reports from Tennessee.
The most precipitation reported in Texas was 1.22" at Henderson. There were 339 reports from Texas. (There was an apparently bogus report of 8.00" from Harper, other reports from Gillespie county were 0.02" and a trace.)
The most precipitation reported in Tarrant County, Texas was 0.46" at Watauga.
So far, 4317 CoCoRaHS entries have been made and the greatest amount of precipitation was 1.91" at Taylorsville, Mississippi. (There were two reports higher, the report from Texas noted above and a report of 7.41" from Mesquite, Nevada. Both of these appear bogus since there were no supporting radar or other CoCoRaHS reports.)

The most new snow reported was 9.2" at Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
The most snow reported on the ground was 25.0" at Anchorage, Alaska.
