Our first snow for 2009! About 0.5" so far, but it is something.

There was a trace of precipitation in the gauge this morning from snow that started sometime after 2 AM and had accumulated 0.4" by 5:30 AM. The 5:30 AM temperature was 33ºF, it was snowing and winds were calm.

The forecast for today is for the low in the low 20s and the high in the mid 30's with mostly cloudy skies and a 40% chance of snow.

Last year on the 19th the low was 10ºF, the high was 30ºF, and no precipitation was recorded for this CoCoRaHS station.

Weather Forecast for Oshkosh, Wisconsin
The forecast today is for a low around 7ºF and a high in the upper teens with a 20% chance of snow.

Weather Fact

1/18/2009 CoCoRaHS reports (as of time of blog entry) -
The most precipitation reported in Tennessee was 0.24" at Roan Mountain. There were 264 reports from Tennessee.
The most precipitation reported in Texas was 0.08" at Orange and Port Lavaca. There were 294 reports from Texas.
No precipitation was reported in Tarrant County, Texas.
So far, 4379 CoCoRaHS entries have been made and the greatest amount of precipitation reported that looked legitimate was 0.78" at Mobile, Alabama.

The most new snow reported was 13.0" at Hancock, New York.
The most snow reported on the ground was 40.0" at Crested Butte, Colorado.
